This is a mizuhiki charm made in Iyo, Shikoku, a long-standing production area of Mizuhiki.
It is made with the traditional “plum knot” among mizuhiki. Plums have been considered auspicious in Japan since ancient times. Therefore, it is often used as a wedding gift, and the plum knot has three meanings: “tightly tied”, “warding off evil spirits”, and “improving destiny”.
